Chapter Executive Committee Meeting

May 10, 2016

PLACE & TIME:

 

The AGA Albuquerque Chapter Executive Committee held a regular board meeting on May 10, 2016, 5:30 p.m., at the RPC CPAs and Consultants, LLP Offices, 2700 San Pedro NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.

 

1.  CALL TO ORDER; ESTABLISH QUORUM

 

President Jeff Brown called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. More than four members of the Chapter Executive Committee (CEC) were present and a quorum was established.

 

 

2.  REVIEW/APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES

 

The minutes from the April 5, 2016 meetings were approved with the update of Victor Kraft as in attendance, and changing HeatherÕs title as RVP elect.

 

3.  TREASURERÕS REPORT

 

Matt submitted bank reconciliation and AR aging report for the month of April 2016 via email.  The chapter has an approximate balance of $14,600.  The Annual Financial Statements Report will be prepared after the program year end.

 

4.  CHAPTER BUSINESS

 

Discussion regarding the following:

SLM- Heather emailed her notes previous to the meeting and provided a summary.  The following key points were discussed and Heather encouraged CEC members to read the in depth notes

National appears to working on establishing Chapter continuity

National is consolidating all website hosts to one site.  Every chapter will roll out in 4 planned phases.  Heather requested for our chapter to be in the last phase which is estimated to be in January/February 2017 so we can use the investment of our new site and web hosting for as long as possible.

Regional coordinator positions were eliminated and the RVP will now work closer with each Chapter.  Heather is our RVP and Marla will be the Regional Advisor

The theme from the new national president is- ÒLeadership in Times of TransitionÓ

National Office is urging Chapters to think broadly and outside the box for advertising events and inviting members and attendees and using ways to reach different generations.

Chapters communicating with each other to find best practices.

Consider different meeting options: webinars, dinner meetings, or roundtables that donÕt offer CPE, but discuss an issue in depth.

The non-renewed member list was distributed and reviewed.  There were 31 members that had not renewed.  CEC members were asked to make second phone calls to those members on the list.

The draft Chapter Bylaws were reviewed, discussions regarding Section 1 and 2 took place.  Heather will call to see if we are allowed to remove everything with the exception of Committee throughout.

Jeff requested from National that our Chapter receive 2 additional hotel scholarships for the National PDT

Marla will roll out the member satisfaction survey and use Survey Monkey.  The survey will close on May 31st.  We will offer a drawing for two $25 gift cards from the list of those participating in the survey.

Chris will be dropping off the donations to Los Ranchos De Los Ninos from our Community service event held at the Heimat House.

 

5.  EDUCATION CHAIR REPORT

 

Marla distributed the summer line up trainings. The trainings are tentatively scheduled to be held in mid-June at Gallup, Las Vegas, Hobbs, and Silver City.  We discussed an estimated charge of $80 for the trainings. 

 

6.  CGFM CHAIR REPORT

 

There was an increase in 3 CGFM certifications from May 2015-April 2016.
