PLACE & TIME:
The AGA Albuquerque Chapter Executive Committee held a regular board meeting on December 13, 2016, 5:30 p.m., at the RPC CPAs and Consultants, LLP Offices, 2424 Louisiana NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
1. CALL TO ORDER; ESTABLISH QUORUM
President Matt Bone called the meeting to order at 5:30 p.m. More than four members of the Chapter Executive Committee (CEC) were present and a quorum was established.
2. REVIEW/APPROVAL OF MEETING MINUTES
The minutes from the November 8, 2016 meeting were approved.
3. TREASURER’S REPORT
Victor emailed the bank reconciliation and AR aging as of November 30, 2016, with notations about outstanding A/R balances and the November luncheon reconciliation. Javier will pay outstanding A/R to Marla at education event on 12/16/16, and Jeff provided payment to Matt.
4. CHAPTER BUSINESS
Discussion regarding the following:
CRP reporting is due by 12/31. Matt will compile and send to Chairs for input, and to Heather for review.
Chapter Toy Drive Donation – Approval for Heather to purchase toys as Chapter donation for toy drive (~$100)
CEC Event Attendance – Matt stressed need for CEC participation at upcoming education events.
5. EDUCATION CHAIR REPORT
Marla provided a PDT update and this month’s education event:
Menu update for December event discussed – CEC agreed to modify reception drink purchase to gallons of Margarita/Sangria as opposed to paying for full bar set-up/staff/drinks.
PDT update from planning call:
Interest in topics about COSO Fraud Risk Management and Artificial Intelligence mentioned from DC education offerings
All CEC Members to think of/work on gathering of speakers – Heather will send out the Speaker Intake Form
Discussion held over possibility to collect money for participation in AGA National training and return membership as sponsorship by Chapter. Unless fully condoned by AGA National, chapter will not pursue.
6. CGFM CHAIR REPORT
Jeff reported that he is staying in contact with UNM Continuing Ed contacts about possibility of CGFM curriculum, and will be picking up
7. ACCOUNTABILITY CHAIR REPORT
Donna will let Marla know if she can present at the December event, or if it will need to be the February seminar.
ACTION ITEM: Marla to make copies of the CCR to distribute for the event
Communication sent to members about free member webinar on 12/14/16, in which Donna will be speaking
8. MEMBERSHIP CHAIR
Chris updated CEC about addition of 2 new members during December.
9. COMMUNITY SERVICE CHAIR
Javier will help Chris deliver toys to Carrie Tingley hospital
Discussion about results of Food Drive and photo – will ask Chris S. for further info
10. WEBMASTER CHAIR
Heather asked group to send any additions for website to her. Meetings minutes have been posted to website, with exception of few with naming questions.
ACTION ITEM: Matt and Marla to provide bios for website
Discussion held over renewal of sugarsynch account. Comments made about its ease of use and capacity, and CEC determined renewal of account is good option. Krista will renew with her own credit card, and request reimbursement.
November newsletter sent out, and Jennifer asked group to send any items to her for newsletter.
13. EARLY CAREER
Tisha reported that she is working on a job shadowing day for students, and more outreach to students will occur in the new year. She also inquired about AGA’s free/sponsored memberships for faculty members.
ACTION ITEM: Chris G. will check on process with AGA National and let Tisha know the process.
14. NEXT CEC MEETING
The next CEC meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. at the RPC CPAs and Consultants, LLP Offices, 2424 Louisiana NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
